Fun Twist on Dying Easter Eggs

Forget the store-bought egg dying kits! These dyed eggs are the coolest!

This is a fun twist on a classic Easter tradition! We had so much fun making and dying these eggs in our home that I am excited to share this activity with you. Easter is such a fun holiday for us, and I love that it brings in all things spring with it!

For best results, soak your eggs in vinegar for a minimum of 2 minutes so the color really clings to the egg shell. The best part is, this method uses all edible ingredients, so you can eat the eggs when you’re done displaying them!

MATERIALS 6-12 hard boiled eggs Bowl of vinegar Cool Whip Muffin Tin Toothpick or knife Laxtex Gloves Paper towels

DIRECTIONS

Place hard boiled eggs in a bowl of vinegar and soak for 10 minutes. Remove and pat dry. This will help them absorb the color.

Spray shaving cool whip into a muffin tin.

Place 4-5 drops of food coloring into each cup. Swirl with a toothpick or knife.

Gently set eggs in the cups, swirling several times, until completely coated. Allow to sit for 10-15 minutes. (You will want to wear gloves so your hands do not stain.)

Remove eggs and on a paper towel. Let them sit for 20-30 minutes.

Gently remove excess Cool Whip. (Note, do not run these under a faucet the pressure will remove the color.)
