Tough Year to a New Chapter...

I've had a lot of people ask me about teaching art classes next school year: homeschool classes, art club, after school classes. Sadly, the answer is no. Not that I don't want to or don't have time for it anymore. It's just that I need to take a break and regroup.

If you follow me on social media, you've probably seen a few glimpses into my personal life. I often share a few things that are going on through the art that I create. So you may have heard that this past year has been tough. To sum it up in the smallest nutshell I can, my Daddy passed away. And I miss him A LOT.

Last May, he was admitted to the hospital. By June 1, he was diagnosed with Sage 4 liver and lung cancer. He came home later that month in Hospice care and he died on July 1.

In the middle of his illness and passing, my Mom and Dad sold my childhood home. So my Mom and I had to sort, giveaway and pack up their 3,600 square foot house of 35 years to move to a significantly smaller home.

After my Dad's funeral, we moved my mom. At the same time, I closed The Art Studio. It has my baby for 6 years. Sadness doesn't even begin to describe how I was feeling.

I turned around the following week and began teaching classes. No time to come up for air.

Finally at Christmas, I was able to stop and process it all. Talk about a roller coaster of emotions. And I felt Every. Single. One.

So I talked with my husband and we decided that it maybe a good idea for me to take a break from teaching art.

So here I am. What am I going to do now?

Whether you've been around for a while or you're new here, it's not hard to figure out that I LOVE art! I love to create art, teach art AND help parents create art at home with their children.

I have started this blog to give you inspiration on adding more art and creativity in your home. I want to share simple art projects you can do with your kids, shots from my home studio (AKA my laundry room) and life on the farm.

Over the next weeks and months, I will be sharing my tips and tricks, fun art projects and my go to art supplies so you can create art at home. I will be simple and beautiful. I hope that you will follow along!

With Love and Creating!
